A leader who only has one interest - YOU!

Now more than ever Connecticut needs leadership with a vision for long term prosperity. This includes sound policy that will protect jobs and businesses, not force them to move out of state. We must support the constitution and our citizens, not the expansion of government. We should focus on efficient government, not a special interest agenda that results in failure.

As a State Representative I am proud to be an independent voice pushing common sense solutions. This includes challenging the business as usual mindset, opposing costly mandates and protecting the constitution.

Throughout the session I was motivated by the citizens of Connecticut. Polls show, citizens support government cuts before raising taxes at a ratio of 3 to 1. Unfortunately, elected officials did not listen and generated a broken budget that has a billion dollar deficit within weeks. Even worse, there is 1.4 billion dollars in a new form of bonding called securitization. This extreme measure, overdependence on taxation, massive debt and other unsound fiscal policy has resulted in two independent bond rating agencies placing a negative outlook and downgrade on our bond rating. How could anyone not recognize these poor decisions would have serious consequences and could result in a bond downgrade?

To prevent a downgrade Fitch and Moody’s say there’s only two solutions: increase taxes on the middle class or make spending reductions.

I believe it is my duty to challenge Connecticut’s tax and spend ideology, but I have learned that there are limits on what one individual can accomplish in Hartford, no matter how hard he or she works. Unless voters elect lawmakers who are willing to end business as usual, and not just talk about it, the legislature will never bring state government spending under control.

In 2010 I need your help to challenge Hartford's business as usual mindset and take back Connecticut.
