Coutu is
focused on the people, not special
interests...
To date over 600 Coutu signs
have been distributed to
supporters throughout the
district. Each day we continue
to have requests for 2-10 new
sign locations. The reason for
this continued support is the
fact that Chris will represent
the people, not PAC's or other
special interests.

Norwich Bulletin's
Questions of the Week: Coutu
answers
Question 1: What is your
top priority if elected to the
General Assembly?
Reduce spending by focusing on regionalization, efficient government,
early retirement packages,
benchmarking, zero-based and
performance based budgeting.
Hold our politicians and
Hartford accountable.
Question 2: How would you
propose reducing the property
tax burden on
homeowners?Challenge all tax and
spending increases. Support a
3cap, then voter referendum.
This will empower the people to
have a say in their budgets and
government to operate on
efficient budgets. The 3cap
would also have provisions in
cases where there are drastic
increases or emergencies.
Question 3: How would
suggest the state address the
energy crisis?
Establish a master plan, energy
efficiency programs, utilize gas
tax revenue for transportation
instead of the general fund.
Question 4: Do you favor
a constitutional convention for
the purpose of allowing
initiative petitions by
citizens? Yes.
Question 5: What proposal
would support to address the
health care issue?
Given the current condition of
the economy, the state has to be
careful not to make promises it
cannot keep. The budget deficit
is currently in the hundreds of
millions, perhaps $1 billion by
some estimates. People need to
be assured that the state can
and will follow through with
promises it has already made.
The state income tax, the Small
Business Entity Tax, and other
taxes were supposed to be
temporary when instituted. The
state lottery was supposed to
fund education, and the gas tax
was supposed to fund
transportation. We need leaders
who will hold Hartford
accountable, and are focused on
results, not political party
prosperity.

Coutu has over 400 support signs

few months.
"After serving my country for 14
years, I got tired of candidates
running un-opposed. I decided to
take action instead of
complaining" stated Coutu. "This
is democracy at it's best and
the people of the 47th
appreciate my long term
commitment to the district."

Coutu has growing support
base of donors
47th District Candidate Christopher

for the Citizens Election Program.
To date over 240 donors have

campaign.
"Connecticut's tax and
spend ideology does not work" said
Christopher Coutu. The people of the
47th are anxious for a change in
ideology. Government should
facilitate business growth, not tax
people out of business. Government
should be lean and operate
efficiently, not attempt to solve
every issue with more taxes..."
